Nesbitt Memorial Library

Homer L. Koliba Papers (Ms. 3)

Description:

The files of Homer Louis Koliba, a state legislator from the Fifty-fourth Legislature (1955) through the Fifty-eighth Legislature (1963). The collection also includes some of the correspondence and other papers of his wife, Bernice Kraatz Koliba, who was active in the historical community in Colorado County.

The papers were once housed in the Koliba Home Museum. After the Kolibas died and the museum closed, about half of the collection, including all of the papers relating to Bernice Koliba, became the property of Raymond Frank Rau. The other half, all of which involved legislative matters, devolved to Robert and Paulette Fesler. Rau donated his part of the collection to the archives in 1987 and the Feslers in 1991.
